Farm Animals Virtual Storytime

 This one I only had 3 kids show up but 6 were registered. This is not unusual. We get many more for specials so we might cut back in the spring.

This was a little weird. The kids didn't show themselves until the end and didn't unmute much so I did with this very little feedback. It felt like I was just practicing. I was hoping using the laptop would make it so I saw the kids more but they haven't got their camera on. I will most likely go back to the Ipad next week. The sound is better etc. One good thing about having no one unmuted is I got through 4 books...that never happens. Next week is Thanskgiving/fall. Then I am off storytime until January. 😀

I only heard one kid who was unmuted so it felt like a practice session. Also, since I was spotlighted, I could only see myself. Not bad but weird!

The kids were on mute a lot of the time and those that weren't were very talkative. I heard they couldn't hear my uke and the song is an echo song so the delay made it weird. They liked the books I think. I might have cut it a little short...30 minutes but that included the getting settled part.

I will have to do some more in November...hope they go as well.

Back to work!

Yesterday was my first day of work since 3/13!

I have worked an hour or 2 each week on timesheets etc. but nothing else.

My library system is doing virtual storytime but we don't need every branch to do it so I have not.

I am not sure how I feel about doing them virtually. They are very cute and I watched a couple on facebook live but not having an audience would just feel weird.

Also, the people doing them are excellent!

We will most likely not do any storytimes until Sept at the earliest. Most likely not until there is a vaccine.

This Blog will be on hiatus until them.

Preschool outreach - I like me!

This was the same as toddlers but with different books. I also did bean bags instead of shakers.

I had a large crowd and I have caught a cold so it was a little too much today. They loved the puppet show. They really didn't want to sit after the first book so it was a good 2nd book to do - very interactive. The puppet show was okay but I forgot the put the tiger away thing.

Some of the kids were having a great time listening to the books and music. Others were having a great time seeing what they could get into and they did. At least they all had a good time!

Then the little boy who didn't want a shaker threw up on the floor. That was it! We finished the song and I left. Wow!

Might have one more EHS in Feb but then they are moving.
