Preschool storytime - Farm Animals

I started it out fine but there were 4 parents in the back who talked and didn't control their kids which made it difficult.

Hello song
Duck on a Bike by Shannon

List of Dances
If you're happy and you know it

Mrs. Wishy Washy's Farm by Cowley

Mrs. Wishy Washy dance/song

I know a chicken with shakers - the girl who wanted a red egg pouted the whole time, I ignored her.

Old MacDonald with puppets

When ducks get up in the morning on the uke

Goodbye song

I had such plans! The kids in the back went nuts for the puppets and they got closer and closer and when one of them touched a puppet I put them away. Couldn't see doing the story with puppets after that.

Toddlertime - Body Parts

Books:
Head to Toe by Carle
Can you make a scary face by Thomas

Songs
the more we get together
hokey pokey (no music)
Toe knee chestnut (no music)
Jumping and counting
Bean bag rock with bean bags
 - must remember to tell them not to throw them
Head shoulders knees and toes
Hands are for clapping
What a miracle

Finger play
Here is my ear

This one was pretty tame and no fancy stuff. They enjoyed the Carle book but not scary face as much. More music was needed than planned because of this. The bean bags went better than I expected. I made the mistake of saying don't throw them at people so they threw them all over the place.

Oh well.

Trunk or Treat

Amazing! 1200 cars about twice that number of kids.

We did a pirate ship. I made a pirate jacket. It was great!

Next year, bring chairs...do a dry run with decorations...more staff? Make sure we have Deale on something not just AACPL

Toddlertime - Bathtime

This one was a very successful program.

I used the hello song I did yesterday at outreach.

Early Head Start - Books

Oh my goodness. 5 toddlers and 6 babies. I am exhausted. My first book was to the tune of a screaming 1 year old. A child couldn't get enough of the flannel board (of course) and the song cube was a dud. They couldn't figure out what I was doing. I did the jbrary hello and goodbye and it was good.

This one went pretty well. I showed sign language for leaves and we used it for our Leaves are falling down song.

The kids are pretty young now. I might just do just one book in future. I will need to add a puppet story or something like that.
