Early Head Start - Colors

A bit of a circus but here is what I did.

One by Otoshi - no one was listening, I plowed on
Pete the Cat - I love my white shoes by Litwin

Flannel - Brown Bear Brown Bear - extension with puppets

Songs-
If you're wearing red
If you're happy and you know it
The more we get together
I know a chicken - with shakers
Song cube - they really liked this and each child got a turn

The kids were all over the place as usual. Touching the books, taking the flannels and puppets, etc.

Then the little boy who didn't want a shaker threw up on the floor. That was it! We finished the song and I left. Wow!

Might have one more EHS in Feb but then they are moving.

Acoustic Song Circle

Theme was colors.

Songs were
1. Brown Eyed Girl

2. Blue Bayou

3. Big Yellow Taxi

4. Heart of Gold

5. Black Velvet Band

6.

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road

7. Nights in White Satin

8. Rainbow Connection

The ones I liked best were Black velvet band and Big yellow taxi. The one I could
have done without is Heart of Gold.

Jan 8th - cancelled

My co-worker called in sick so I had to staff the desk.

Ugh!

Toddler time - holidays

Books:
Rory the Dinosaur needs a Christimas Tree by Climo
How Do Dinosaur's Say Happy chanukay? by Yolen

Fingerplay
5 little bells

Flannel
7 kwanzaa Candles

Songs
Hello song
I can't wait to celebrate by Gill
Jumping and counting by Gill
 Sleigh Ride with bells
Jingle Bells with bells (and uke)

Bells on the sleigh

Oh What a Miracle

Wow! There was one new child who kept taking my uke. I moved it many times but he kept finding it. The mom said he had one at home.

Other that that it was pretty good.

Preschool visit - holiday, winter, penguins

This is my favorite preschool and we had a good time today.

Books:
Flip and Flop by Apperly
Winter Dance by Bauer
Penguin and Pinecone by Yoon

Songs
The more we get together
If you're happy and you know it
Head Shoulder's knees and toes
Jingle Bells with bells on uke
Light one candle with bells
May there always be sunshine with uke - this was just terrible. I couldn't remember the key.

Penguins - toddlers

I just wanted to do something I haven't done for a while. I don't do this theme much because most of the books about penguins are much too long.

Penguin and Pinecone by Yoon
If you were a penguin by Minor

Songs
Hello/Goodbye
Hands are for clapping
Jumping and counting
I know a chicken with shakers
Penguin's lament with shakers
What a miricle

Fingerplays
5 perky penguins
Waddling penguin

Flannel
5 little penguins

It was a little short, most likely because I only did 2 books but the kids wouldn't have sat for another book and the only other one I had was pretty long. -Flip and Flop by Apperly.

Early Head Start - last one

Early Head Start is leaving our area and heading to another Libraries service area so this was most likely my last outreach to them.

It went well. I anticipated craziness and it wasn't really.

BooksL
Pete the cat I Love My White Shoes by Litwin
Can You Make a Scary Face? by Thomas
Hi Pizza Man! by Walter

Songs:
The more we get together with signs
If you're happy and you know it
Head Shoulders Knees and toes
I know a chicken with shakers
Shake your sillies out with shakers
What a miracle

Game
Song cube

The song cube was a hit! It seemed short but I think it was just right. Not sure when I started but I was done at 1020.
